Since the beginning of this year, the Agricultural Development Bank of China (ADBC) has made great efforts to overcome the adverse impact of the epidemic and solidly promoted the credit support for the protection of the Yangtze River. As of May 26, the bank has granted 101.1 billion RMB under the Yangtze River Protection program this year, an increase of 197% over the same period of last year, and the loan balance was 502.5 billion RMB.

The ADBC branches along the Yangtze River take the initiative to report to the local government with a view to support the local development plans along the Yangtze River Economic Belt, launched promotion on the functions, credit policies and product advantages of ADBC, establish a work coordination mechanism, and sign strategic cooperation agreements with local governments. Jiangsu Branch signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Zhenjiang municipal government, focusing on the Yangtze River Protection and ecological environment governance, and reached an intentional loan amount of 45.5 billion RMB. Hunan Branch signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Changde municipal government, pledging to provide no less than 30 billion RMB of credit fund in the next three years. Anhui Branch and the provincial Development and Reform Commission jointly set up a 60 billion RMB "policy based financial green channel" fund, focusing on supporting epidemic prevention and control, resumption of work and production and Yangtze River protection projects.

In order to give full play to the leading and guiding role of policy based finance, ADBC has included the Yangtze River protection project into the green channel and adopted preferential policies to promote the early resumption and commencement of major projects and key projects, and supported a number of projects with significant social and economic benefits. Jiangsu Branch supported the comprehensive renovation project of riverside scenery belt in Jiangning Riverside Development Zone in Nanjing with a loan of 1.3 billion RMB, carried out ecological restoration of the Yangtze River shoreline, and strengthened the environmental protection of wetlands along the Yangtze River. Anhui Branch disbursed a loan of 900 million RMB to support the water environment improvement project on the west bank of the Yangtze river, improve the local flood control and drainage system, the ecological and livable environment in the project area. Jiangxi branch issued a loan of 430 million RMB to support the water ecological improvement project for the most beautiful shoreline of the Yangtze River in Chaisang District, Jiujiang City, to improve the flood resistance capacity of dikes in the area. Hunan Branch granted 1.35 billion RMB PPP project loan to support the black and polluted water treatment project along Zijiang River in Anhua county to improve the water quality of Zijiang River and its tributaries in the area. Hubei Branch's 650 million RMB PPP project loan was provided to support the urban sewage treatment and infrastructure construction in Xingshan County, protect the water quality of the Three Gorges Reservoir area, maintain its ecological environment, and improves the urban and rural sewage treatment capacity of Xingshan County.
