Vice President of ADBC Mr. Zhang Wencai Participated in the First Session of Asian Development Bank’s Webinar Series on Financing Sustainable and Resilient Food Systems in Asia and the Pacific

On 16th March, Mr. Zhang Wencai, Vice President of ADBC, participated in the First Session of the Webinar Series on Financing Sustainable and Resilient Food Systems in Asia and the Pacific launched by Asian Development Bank (ADB). The participants discussed the issues related to financing for sustainable and resilient food systems, agricultural food system transformation and agricultural technology innovation in Asia-Pacific region. The Vice President of ADB, the Associate Vice President of IFAD, the experts of the World Bank, OECD and scholars of the universities of both China and other countries attended the meeting.

Mr. Zhang gave a brief introduction to the efforts and accomplishments of ADBC in safeguarding national food security, consolidating and expanding the achievements in poverty alleviation, supporting agricultural modernization, agricultural and rural development, regional coordinated development as well as construction of ecological civilization, etc. He called on further exchanges and cooperation with relevant multilateral and bilateral international organizations on knowledge sharing and project financing in terms of green financing and fighting against the climate change for the projects in agricultural sector, agricultural technology innovation, mobilization of private capital and integration of urban and rural areas.
